Where are we?
Penllwynteg is one mile from the village of
Mynyddygarreg near Cydweli on the South Wales coast (in between Carmarthen and Llanelli
and 15 miles from Swansea)
Castell Cydweli (Kidwelly Castle) is one
of the most famous landmarks in the vicinity. It is one of the best examples of a Norman
Castle in Wales and stands proudly near the Gwendraeth Fach Estuary.
To find out more about Cydweli (which is about 2 miles from the caravan) visit:

Pembrey Country Park is less than 10 minutes away with 8 miles
of golden sands and 300 acres of forestry with footpaths,
cycle paths, dry ski slope, 9 hole pitch and putt course
and miniature railway.
Llanelli's coastline is nearing completion on a 23 million
pound transformation into a tourist attraction of
international repute.
Kidwelly boasts an extremely well preserved Norman Castle. Ferryside is a
local fishing village with views of the Tywi
estuary and Llansteffan castle.

A short drive will take you into the
scenic Tywi valley and The National Botanical Gardens of Wales.
The 18-hole Glyn Abbey Golf Course is less than a mile from base, with the Pontiets
Heritage Walk half a mile away.
It is an ideal base for wildlife, walking, touring or cycling or doing absolutely nothing!
